Graduated from the Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute (the Faculty of Design and Decorative and Applied Arts, a degree in Industrial Graphics) in 1985.
Started his career as an art editor at the “Belarus” Publishing House in 1986.
Beginning with 1992 was a lecturer, the Deputy Head of the Department of History and Theory of Arts and the Vice Rector at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.
Was appointed Rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts in 2010.
